Art by MiRan - Autumn Mindy

Hi all!

Today is my turn to show you another Art by MiRan project! Our monthly theme is Back to School, so I decided to alter a notebook.

I bought a notebook at our local book shop, because mine was full. The only thing I thought was that it is a boring, plane book. When I saw this months theme at the showcase blog, I thought, hey, that is a great idea! Let's just alter this boring book!
The papers I used to alter it, are from a paper pad from Basic Grey, Serenade collection. All edges are inked with Distress Ink Walnut Stain.

The image I used for my new notebook is called Autumn Mindy. She can be found here. I used my Copic Markers again to color the image, and I used the following.
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13, and R20 for blush.
Hair: E13, E08, E09, E18
Eyes and shirt: BG72. BG75, BG78
Scarf: Y21, YR23, Y28
Leaves: G40, G43, G46
Background: BG0000, BG000, BG10

To finish off my notebook I used some golden ribbon from my stash, and some glitter thickers by American Crafts.

This was it for today, I hope you like it!

ROBYN'S FETISH CHALLENGE #225 - CARDS WITH BUGS OR INSECTS ON THEM

Hi all!

Time for a brand new challenge at Robyn's Fetish today! Our theme for this week is CARDS WITH BUGS OR INSECTS ON THEM, so get those crawlers out of your stash! Our sponsor is Imagine that! ...Digis by Kris, and they are offering 3 digital sets of the winner's choice. Isn't that generous? Just click on the banner below to visit the shop.
IMAGINE THAT!

Imagine That! ...Digis by Kris also generously provided some images to the DT to work with, and this is what I created.

Since my card involved so much coloring, I decided to keep the rest of my card pretty simple. I embossed the background with one of my ancient embossing folders. I have had them since I first started crafting, and I didn't even had an embossing machine at that time!

The main image is not just 1 image, they are 2 images merged together, and I created a little scene around it. The ladybugs are both from the same set, called Ladybugs, and the set can be found here. Everything is colored with my Copic Markers, except for the sky. I used my Distress Ink Tumbled glass for it.
I used the following Copic Markers
Ladybugs: W0, W2, R20, W5, W7, R24, R37, R59
Swing and flowers: E53, E55, G43, G46, Y15, Y35, Y38, R24, R37
Grass: YG91, YG93, YG85, YG97, YG99
Bushes: G40, G43, G46

To finish off my card I used a yellow ribbon and I tied it in a bow.

This was it for today, I hope you all like it. Please pop over to Robyn's Fetish and join us!

Copic Marker Benelux - Happy Birthday

Hallo allemaal!
Hi all!

For this card, I went out of my comfort zone. No flowers, no ribbon, no pearls!

The papers I used for this card are by My Minds Eye, and all edges are inked with Distress Ink Walnut Stain. The star was actually meant to make a tag, but I didn't add the paper to the inside.

The image I used is a digi by Kenny K, called Boogie Down. I used my Copic Markers to color her, and I used the following
Huid/Skin: E00, E11 en E13
Wangen en lippen/Cheeks and lips: R20, R22
Haar/Hair: W3, W5, W7
Muts en broek/Hat and Pants: B93, B95, B97
Jasje en schoenen/Jacket and shoes: YG93, YG95, YG97
Shirt, riem en oorringen/Shirt, belt and earrings: YR20, YR23, YR27
Stereo/Music Box: W3, W5, B93, YR27

To create my sentiment, I downloaded a font called NEXT, and I typed my own sentiment. At first, I thought I would keep them blank, but I didn't like the look of it. That is why I colored them with my Copic B95, B97 and B99, but I only used one color per letter. I didn't do any blending with them.

Groetjes,

Sandra

Crea-Sandra's Crafty Tutorial world - Puzzle Piece Resist Technique

Hi all!

Today, I would like to show you a technique called Puzzle Piece Resist.

Supplies:
A piece of card stock the size of your card front.
Border stamp
Acrylic block
Watermark ink (I used Versamark)
Clear embossing powder
Embossing buddy
Heat tool
Distress Ink in 2 different colors ( I used Victorian Velvet and Dusty Concord)
Ink Blending tool
Nesting die (Nestabilities Labels 4 die)
Die-cutting machine
Image by Robyn's Fetish called Catherine
Coloring medium of your choice (I used Copic Markers)

Prepare your card front with an embossing buddy, so the static will go away.

Ink up your stamp with watermark ink

Start stamping on the bottom. Make sure you put even pressure on all the parts of the stamp.

Ink up your stamp again, and stamp above the previous stamped section. Repeat this until the full sheet is stamped

Pour embossing powder over the entire card front.

I alway use a piece of copy paper under it, so I can funnel the embossing powder back in the container.

Heat emboss the card front, so all the embossing powder can melt. This might take a few minutes. Meanwhile, make sure you don't burn your fingers!

It is really hard to see, but now I have the complete front embossed.

Tape down your die in the center of the card front, and run it through your die cutting machine.

Take the frame out of the card front but do not take your frame out of your die.

Now the fun part starts! Take your Distress Ink and Ink Blending tool and start inking.

Always start inking off your paper, and come in with circular motions from the side.

This is how the main panel looks once it's completely inked with the Distress Ink. As you can see the embossed parts will stay white, which gives a really lovely effect.
If there is any ink residu on the embossed parts, you can always wipe it clean with a tissue. Do not use a babywipe, because it will effect your Distress Ink.

Now you can ink your frame, but leave the frame in the die.  I used Dusty Concord for this part.

When you remove your die, you can see the small white border.  Personally I really like the look of it.

This is how it looks like when the label is back in the frame.

Now you can color your main image.  I used Copics to color "Catherine," and I used the following:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13 and R20 for blush
Shirt: RV91, RV93 amd RV95
Hat and pants: V12, V15, V17

And here is my finished card!

This was it for today!  I hope you like it and will try it!

Hugs,

Sandra

Love to Create - Inspired by a Song, Book or Movie

Hi all!

Time for a new challenge at Love to Create! This time we have a great theme, Inspired by a Song, Book or Movie! Our sponsor for this challenge is the amazing The Stampin Chef! The Stamping Chef is offering 3 images of the winner's choice, isn't that generous? Just click on the image below to go the the shop!
The Stamping Chef

The Stamping Chef also generously provided some images to the DT to work with, and this is what I created.

For my card I was inspired by the song All I want for Christmas is you from Mariah Carey. This is my all time favorite Christmas song!! Kind of an earworm, and I couldn't stop singing it while creating this card.
To create the shape of this card, I used a template form Dutch Doobadoo. The patterned paper is a scrap that was in my stash, but it didn't have a nametag, so I have no idea which brand it is. All edges are inked with Distress Ink Walnut Stain.
The image I used for my card is called Checking out, and she can be found here. I used my Copic Markers again to color the image, and I used the following.
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13
Hair: E23, E25, E27, E29
Outfit: R24, R27, R29, and W00, W0, W2, W5
Gift: G40, G43, G46
All the fuzzy parts are alsol covered with Stickles Frosted Lace.
The music notes seemed rather fitting with our theme for this week, and are made with a die from Noor Design.
The sentiment is also from Noor!Design, and says Happy December 25th!

This was it for today, I hope you like it. Please pop over to Love to Create and join us!

Hugs, Sandra
